FINANCIAL LITERACY COURSE

Having seen both the lack of financial literacy in high school curriculums and the additional monetary strain put on students by the coronavirus, Soho Youth Club partnered with ALINE Wealth and Global Educational Excellence (GEE) to host our first-ever Financial Literacy mini course. Spanning the first two weeks of November, our course taught essential financial skills (including opening a bank account, the importance of building credit, taxes, investing, and more) from industry professionals Peter Klein and Gina Martinez. While the course was primarily targeted towards students in GEE’s Detroit-based academy schools, all sessions were accessible to the public via Zoom.
